This June, we’re proud to recognise Mary as the recipient of our Tenant Appreciation Award - a well-deserved honour for someone who truly embodies what it means to be a good neighbour.
At 76, Mary has been part of our community for over 10 years. Her home and garden are always beautifully kept, a reflection of the care and pride she takes in where she lives. But it’s not just her green thumb that makes her stand out, it’s her heart.
For more than a decade, Mary has shown remarkable kindness to her neighbour, Donald, who is 82 and lives on his own. As cooking has become more difficult for him, Mary has stepped in, preparing meals for him twice a day. Most days they also share a cup of tea and a biscuit.
Mary doesn’t stop there. She also drives Donald to his appointments and helps with the little day-to-day tasks that have become a bit harder with age.
Mary’s selfless acts of care and friendship remind us of the power of community and consistent kindness. She is a true reflection of what it means to be neighbourly!
